Session Audit Trail
Every notarisation session keeps a timestamped record of what happened. You can read your own, on the session page, at Dashboard → Sessions → [your session].
What it records

| Joins and leaves | Who was in the room and when — you, your notary, any witnesses. |
| Recording start | When the session recording began. |
| Identity acknowledgement | The point at which the notary confirmed the identity of each participant. |
| Signature fields | Each field created, and each one signed, with its own timestamp. |
| Intent confirmation | Your confirmation that you understood and intended to sign. |
| Seal application | The moment the notary applied their seal, completing the act. |
| Client confirmation | Your acknowledgement at the close of the session. |
Why it matters to you
A notarial act can be challenged years later. The audit trail is the contemporaneous record of how it was carried out — who was present, that identity was checked, that you signed knowingly, and when the seal was applied.
It is not a summary written afterwards. Each entry is written as the event happens.
This is yours to read
The trail is not an internal log you have to request. It is on your session page, in plain language, from the moment the session completes.
How it relates to the certificate
The certificate is the portable proof — a QR code and verification address anyone can check. The audit trail is the detail behind it.
Where the certificate says an act was performed, the trail shows how.
Cryptographic integrity
The finalised document carries a SHA-256 hash and an RFC 3161 timestamp token, and the certificate carries an X.509 integrity statement. Together these mean any later alteration to the document is detectable — the hash will not match.
Verification checks exactly this, which is why it can confirm a document is genuine without needing access to your account.

The trail is part of the notarial record and is retained for the statutory period — see Data & Privacy. Your direct portal access to the session page is shorter, so download what you need soon after the session.
