Document Types
The platform catalogue
NotariseIt provides a catalogue covering multiple categories of documents, and it grows as new types are added. These are pre-seeded with the platform's recommended pricing model (flat or per page) and observe the statutory minimum of ₦5,000 per notarial act.
The catalogue also includes a General Document type, under General Documents. It is the catch-all a client selects when nothing else in the list describes what they have brought, and it is priced at the statutory minimum by default. Like any other type you can set your own fee for it, or switch it off if you would rather not take unclassified work.
All document types are active on your profile by default (opt-out model). You only need to take action if you want to remove types you don't handle or adjust your fees.

Configuring your document types
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Document Types & Fees.
Disabling a document type
If you do not handle a particular type:
- Find the document type in the list.
- Toggle it Off.
Disabled types do not appear in your profile or in the booking form for your clients.
Setting a custom fee
- Find the document type.
- Click Override (or Edit fee if you have already set one).
- Enter your figure.
- Click the tick to save. Reset returns the type to the platform default.
Changes take effect immediately for new bookings.
What the ₦5,000 minimum actually applies to
The Second Schedule sets a minimum for the act, not for a rate — and that distinction decides what you are allowed to enter:

| /page | Your rate is per page, so it may be below ₦5,000. The minimum is applied to the finished total instead. |
So on a per-page deed you can charge ₦3,800 a page: a four-page deed comes to ₦15,200, comfortably above the floor. If a client brings a single-page document at that rate the act would come to ₦3,800, and the platform charges ₦5,000 for it rather than let a notarial act be performed for less than the law allows.
While you are editing a per-page type the field is labelled / page, because the difference between "₦3,800" and "₦3,800 a page" is the whole bill.
The Schedule is tiered — the platform is not, yet
The Second Schedule distinguishes ₦10,000 for a certificate and ₦20,000 for a deed from the ₦5,000 general minimum. NotariseIt currently enforces only the ₦5,000 floor that applies to every act, and does not check the higher tiers for you. Pricing above them where they apply remains your professional responsibility.
Elite organisations
If you are a member of an Elite organisation, your org admin may have set organisation-level overrides for certain document types. Your personal settings apply on top of the org-level settings.
How document type selection works at booking
When a client books a session with you, they:
- Upload each document.
- Select the document type from your active catalogue — or General Document if nothing fits.
- See the fee update live before confirming.
The page count for per-page types is read from the PDF automatically; the client does not type it in and cannot influence it.
The booking cannot be submitted without a document type assigned to each document.
Each document is charged separately
Two affidavits in one session are two notarial acts and earn two fees. Fees are no longer collapsed to one charge per document type.
